Cambridge Children’s Hospital will be a world first hospital that cares for children’s physical and mental health together, in a way no one ever has before. The new purposefully designed building will enable staff to provide better and safer, age-appropriate care in high quality, fit for purpose facilities that meet the needs of children, young people and families.
The new hospital will include 124 hospital beds (88 inpatient - 72 physical health inpatient beds and 16 PICU, and 36 mental health inpatient beds), 42 day-case beds, 7 operating theatres, embedded 5,000m² research institute. This unique project is a collaboration between Cambridge University Hospitals, Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust and University of Cambridge.
Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital (CCRH) will change the story of cancer by bringing together clinical and research expertise in a new, world class hospital. As part of the Government’s New Hospital Programme, it is a joint initiative between Cambridge University Hospitals and University of Cambridge.
CCRH is uniquely poised to radically transform patient care, delivering hope and better health outcomes for millions of people across the globe. Accommodation includes Day Treatment, Cancer Assessment, Pharmacy, Institute for Integrated Cancer Medicine (Wet and Dry Labs), Early Detection, and 77 Inpatient Beds (Adult Oncology, Haematology, Bone Marrow Transplant and Teenage and Young Adults).

Cambridge Movement Surgical Hub, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

A new specialist Surgical Hub at Addenbrooke’s Hospital to cut waiting lists for routine orthopaedic operations – such as knee and hip replacements – and to create a new surgical centre of excellence. The new orthopaedic facility sits apart from the main hospital and provides 40 additional beds, 3 state of the art operating theatres, an 8-bed recovery area, as well as a new x-ray suite, physiotherapy recovery space and staff facilities.
The Victor Philip Dahdaleh Heart and Lung Research Institute
Located on Cambridge Biomedical Campus, the Heart and Lung Research Institute is a joint initiative between University of Cambridge and Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. It creates the largest centre in Europe for heart and lung research, education, academic-industrial collaboration and clinical care.
The new-build facility focuses on conditions such as causes of heart attacks, acute lung injury and repair, cystic fibrosis, vascular dementia, atrial fibrillation and pulmonary hypertension.
The institute features a 10-bed clinical research facility, laboratory space and subterranean link to Royal Papworth Hospital.
